My Favorite Breakfast!!

I know I’ve already mentioned these products, and the ideas on what to do w/these products, and literally already given you this EXACT idea... but I don’t think anyone really grasped how much this is my ultimate favorite breakfast, EVERRRR!! If I have time, this is what I make:

Cream of wheat w/sugar free syrup!
Maybe I'll add some granola to my yugurt... sometimes I'll add blueberries :)
p.s. yes these are actual pictures from my breakfast this morning!!

Remember....
3 T cream of wheat, with 1 1/4 cup of Almond milk...

for a total of 5 ww points (add 1 more point if you're using skim milk), and then add some sure-free syrup as a sweetener! :)

On the side of my cream of wheat, I'll do about 3/4 cup of Dannon's Light & Fit yogurt for 2 ww points, and then I might add strawberries, blueberries, and/or granola :)
Enjoy your delicious breakfast!!!

0 Point Veggie Soup

I know it's getting chillier out everyone's glued more inside and spending less time outside where they could be burning more calories, plus, I know some of you who are working at a cubicle and have one of your cabinet drawers packed with snacks and would love a warm, zero point food item you could eat whenever, so...

Homemade veggie soup

7 cups Low fat Beef broth (beef is the best)
2 carrots (leave skin on, do not peel)
1-2 celery stalks (depending on size, use 2 small ones including some celery leaves in b/c it adds great flavor)
1 medium size onion
1 can of green beans
3 cups (1/2 a cabbage) chopped cabbage - -I LOVEEEE cabbage!!!
1 can diced tomatoes (throw whole can in, even the juice)
½ bunch chopped Scallions
1 Zucchini
1 beef bullion cube

Spices:

1 T parsley
1 T minced garlic
1 t thyme
1 t sage
1 t dill weed
1 t fresh dill
1 t onion powder
1 t garlic powder
1 t celery salt
½ t pepper
1 t salt

First off, the measurements of the spices are all just guesses!

Put the broth in a giant pot, w/the bouillon cube, and add the veggies as you chop them. You’ll probably want to add whatever takes the longest to cook first, like carrots & celery. Finally, add the spices last, stir, let simmer 15-30 minutes.

If using fat-free broth (or low-sodium or something; anything that’s about 15-30 calories per cup), you may have 1 ½ cup (b/c there’s veggies in there now that are taking up room) for 0 ww points! ZERO! 3 cups for 1 point!

Don’t hesitate to mix this up a bit and add whatever you want! Add some potato if you want it a little heavier… or some Smart Taste Extra Wide (egg) Noodles… or even chicken! Just make sure you count those points, b/c even corn isn’t a zero point food item!

SNACKSSSS!!

You'll love these!!

Kettle corn

This is sooOooo delicious I can't stand it!! 2 cups, for 3 points! or 4 cups for 7. I would portion these out into individual baggies b/c you'll eat the whole bag if you don't! They also have different flavors: Buffalo Cheddar, Bacon Ranch, Smoked Cheddar, Aged White Cheddar, Sea Salt, Cinnamon Sugar, Sweet & Tangy BBQ & Wasabi. Kettle corn is my favorite, Wasabi is my mom's fav, and Cinnamon Sugar is my second fav... not a fan of the Bacon Ranch, and the Aged White Cheddar is in my cupboard unopened. I haven't tested the ww points of all the flavors yet, just the Kettle corn. Also, you can get the HUGE bags of these at Walmart for $2.50! WOO!!

Wholly Guacamole
2 Tablespoons for 2 points, or 4 T for 3 points! Guacamole is one of the most fattening dips b/c avocado's are so high in points! You could make your own dip using avocados, light sour cream, and salsa, but it'll still be high in points. I prefer this way! Also, the off brands that they sell at WalMart & such, in the same section, are just as good in points & cheaper!! Eat alone, or mix with some salsa (0 ww points) and enjoy with tortilla chips :)

Hummus
Hummus is really good for you! I just tested what I bought in my fridge at Giant Eagle, the brand is Tribe? lol. Anyways... 1 ww point for 2 T, or 3 points for 4 T. All hummus will be about the same :) Enjoy with your own toasted pita bread for lower point snack!

Yogurt

If you're looking for just a little bit of yogurt on the go, or to throw in your lunch, go w/the weight watchers yogurt cups.
You get 6 oz, almost a full cup, for only 2 ww points! And they come in sooo many flavors! Check this out!

However, if you're looking for something more plain, that you'll most likely enjoy at home in a bowl, or topped with strawberries, blueberries, and/or granola... maybein a smoothie?!... go w/this:
You can have 1 cup (8 oz) for 3 ww points :)

100 calorie snack packs
Most 100-calorie snacks, are 1 pack for 3 points, or 2 packs for 5 points! But make sure you just have a couple. Eating 5 snack packs aren't good! lol

Pudding
These are my favorite!! 3 points for a pudding cup! But make sure to get them in the cooler section, and make sure to get FAT-FREE, not sugar free... I can't imagine what sugar-free tastes like...

Laughing Cow Cheese
You can spread these on crackers with a tomato or pepperoni on top! 1 cheese wedge for 1 point! DELISH!

Turkey Pepperoni
I wish I could remember how many points these were... but SORRY! My son loves them tho! haha :D

All for now :) Good Night!

Live Today : )

Ello! We've decided to take our site public today :) We didn't want to be constantly improving past posts, or have nothing really on the site before passing the URL out. We still need to put up more recipes :) All in good time. Thanks for visiting & I hope this helps :D

Please take time to read everything that's available so far.You might have to back up a little and start from our first post & work your way up to the most recent : )

Also, we're both just trying to help out friends and/or acquaintances of ours. We're not endorsing any products, just letting you know what we've found. Please note that we're not getting paid for any of this, lol. It's all fun for us :)

Dinner Time

Burgers & Chicken patties

Morning Star has sooo many options! And all are around 3 ww points per patty! Some are only 2! Why not make yourself a double burger?!

Burger Buns
They have these burger buns (3 ww points) in 3 varieties: Multi-grain, Wheat, and White.
Ragu
Ragu light is awesome! I use to to make spaghetti or lasagna. 1 ww point for 1/2 cup, or 3 points for 1 cup.

Smart Taste Noodles

Smart taste noodles are the first white pasta to be enriched with Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D– and lots of it; excellent source of Fiber and contains Calcium and Vitamin D equal to an eight-ounce glass of milk. Plus, it's is lower in calories and fat than traditional pasta. And my favorite part, NO ONE IN YOUR FAMILY WILL KNOW THEY'RE EATING HEALTHY PASTA!!! 5 points for 2 oz of uncooked pasta; 9 points for 4 oz.

Lunch Ideas

Bread

I use Nickles Light Breads. My favorite is their Mult-grain, and each is only 1 ww point per slice!

Lunch Meat

All the Oscar Meyer Lunch meats w/the slogan, “98% fat free,” are 1 ww point for 6 slices!! That’s the best you’re going to find!
Hot dogs
The Oscar Meyer turkey dogs are pretty much normal size and only 2 ww points (I think… I’ll check!), but compared to normal hot dogs that are 5 or 6 (plus the bun!), that’s so good!

& for buns…
Go for Light! Duh! & sorry b/c I can’t find a picture, but come on, you know what I’m talking about. Also, my personal preference, I don’t like the light wheat hot dog buns.
Corn Dogs
I’m sure I could do a whole blog post on Morning Star products, but one thing’s for sure: I loveeee their veggie corn dogs!!

WW Meeting

I went to my first Weight Watchers Meeting today w/a friend of mine who's a member! I think a lot of people just figured I was a member or at least joined online, but I literally just bought the books & Jessica taught me the rest!

Anywho... I'm considering joining b/c it's free to join now; you just have to pay $13 dollars for one meeting. However, if you want to attend the meetings, it's $40 a month. The store near me has meetings every Wednesday at 9:30 & I'm pretty sure that it'd fit into my schedule! It was definitely nice to attend a meeting for free though w/o paying. So everyone, find a buddy who's a member & go to a meeting!! Lol. But now I want to become a remember even more b/c I learned a TON & it's great support.

Here's what I couldn't wait to share!

First, I'd like to share a recipe for Kale chips:
(everyone there who's had them RAVEDDDD about them!!)

Place Kale on a cookie sheet w/olive oil sprayed on the bottom of the cookie sheet, and again on the top of the Kale. No foil. & Make sure it's dry before you bake it. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; you'll be able to smell it, but be careful it doesn't burn. Remove from cookie sheet immediately & allow to cool.

We also talked about a few products I haven't tried before!
Promise butter! It comes in regular, light, and fat free :) 0 points for the fat free kind!
(couldn't find a picture online, so this is literally the picture I just took of the tub I bought on my way home from the meeting!!) And Of course I tried it w/a slice of banana bread, DELICIOUS! Can't even tell it's fat free!
Then, we talked about those Shirataki noodles I saw on Dr. Oz. Apparently, you can get them at Giant Eagle!! They said they're in the cooler section, by the Tofu.
Motivational quote:
Out of sight means out of mind and out of mouth!

Tomorrow, I'm cleaning out my pantry's and moving my stuff onto a designated shelf for all MY stuff, and I'm hiding anything bad in colored containers (instead of clear) and tucking it away. Whether it's buried deep into the pantry or fridge, if I can't SEE it, I can't put it in my mouth!

Let’s do Breakfast!

Here are some ideas for breakfast:
Sausage Patties
Great Value Turkey Breakfast Patties!! Each patty contains only 90 calories, 6 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 30 mg cholesterol, 360 mg sodium, 105 mg potassium, 0 grams carbohydrates, 0 grams dietary fiber, 0 grams sugars and a nice healthy 9 grams of protein. They also provide 4% of the daily amount of iron and 2% calcium. These are available at WalMart, and only 3 ww points per patty.
Throw this on a bagel thin w/a slice of cheese, and you’ve got breakfast! Maybe a side of yogurt and fruit for an extra treat!

Pancakes

Pancakes!! I’ve found that both Fiber one pancakes and Hungry Jack are pretty much the same in points, however, hungry jack is wayyyyy cheaper!! I love their blueberry wheat the best! You can have 3 (4 inch) pancakes for 4 points. I’ll usually make the whole box when I buy them & freeze them in stacks of 3 or 4 depending on what I’m feeling the day I thaw them. So I put about 4 stacks of 3 or 4 pancakes in a big freezer zip-lock bag, and take out a stack at a time when I’m ready to eat!
Waffles!!!
As Donkey said, "Tonight, I'm makin waffles!"
Eggo Fiber Plus Waffles. The buttermilk waffles are 4 points for 2 waffles, and the chocolate chip are 5 points for 2 (and sooo worth it!!)
Syrup you ask?
The best tasting sugar free syrup is
Mrs. Butterworth’s!! It’s perfectly think & tastes awesome! 1/3 cup for 1 ww point!
-->Don’t forget about your spray butter!
Cream of Wheat
3 T plus 1 & ¼ cup milk cooked on the stove makes a generous amount! 5 ww points if made with 2 % milk, less if made w/almond milk. Brown sugar on top?... well, okay.. but you’ll get the same effect w/syrup on top & it’s less points!
English muffins!
Thomas’s also make LIGHT English muffins!! Add sauage, egg & cheese for a delicious sandwich, or just butter or jam for something light.

General Food Items

General Items you should always have on hand!

DiRusso Turkey Italian Sausage
I introduce you to my FAVORITE food item!! These Di Russo's Sausages are turkey sausages, and only 3 ww points!! You can do soooo much w/them!! Grind them up and eat them w/eggs for breakfast. Cook them as they are, throw a bun on and some sauteed onions & peppers as a sausage sandwich. Or grind them up and use them as the meat in your spaghetti as a healthier option rather than hamburger meat!

Spray butter!
0 points! Use on top of pancakes, waffles, for grilled cheese, and so much more!!

Cheese slices

Any cheese slices you can find made w/2% milk are generally 1 ww point per slice. You can use the weight watchers slices to discourage anyone else from using your cheese that might be dipping into your fridge, or just go w/an off brand.

Bagel thins
Thomas’s bagel thins are only 3 ww points, and they come in: plain, everything, whole wheat, and cinnamon raisin. There’s so much you can do w/them!! Breakfast? Add sausage, egg & cheese for a delicious bagel sandwich. Lunch? Add meat, cheese & veggies! Dinner? Add a hamburger or chicken, cheese, and veggies!

Mayonnaise

I use Hellman’s Light Mayo. 2 T is 1 ww point!

Ranch Dressing
I've tried way too many fat-free ranch dressings, and light. This is the BEST! You can't tell a difference. Love Walmart!! :)

Reduced Fat Parm Cheese

Almond Milk

Almond milk is so much better tasting than soy! I like the vanilla kind the best! Plus, you can use it when making Malt-o-meal, and you don't have to add any vanilla! I wouldn't drink it plain though. Just over cereal (use just what you need, otherwise you can really taste it), and in anything that calls for milk. You'll come to realize that milk is really bad for you which blows. Have a half carton of Skim milk, for those moments you just really want a glass of milk, but otherwise, use Almond milk if you can.

Ice Cream Sandwiches
Weight watchers has these amazing ice cream sandwiches in tons of flavors:
Vanilla
Mint
Chocolate
Strawberry shortcake
& Peanut butter

4 Points each!! You should always have these in your freezer.
